From September, Iberia will reinforce its operations in Latin America by increasing the frequency of flights to Peru and Venezuela, with 13 flights a week between Madrid and Lima and five to Caracas.
In total, in the five months of the winter season, which runs from 28 October to 30 March, the airline will show a 14% growth between Europe and Latin America, surpassing for the first time the 300 weekly flights with more than 100 destinations in Latin America.
Another of the actions Iberia has taken to reinforce its commitment to Latin America is the increase in capacity with Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), as from November it will have one more flight, up to four frequencies a week.
Thus, Brazil, which together with Ecuador is one of the two countries in Latin America to which Iberia offers two destinations, will have 11 weekly frequencies, adding the daily flight between Sao Paulo and Madrid, and the four between Rio de Janeiro and the Spanish capital.
In addition, Mexico City, with 21 weekly frequencies, is Iberia’s destination in Latin America with the greatest capacity, a figure that the company will also match with three daily flights in Bogota throughout the winter season.
Likewise, Argentina will have 14 weekly frequencies, while Chile fully recovers all pre-pandemic capacity, with 10 frequencies. Ecuador will also have 10 weekly frequencies, as Quito will reach a daily flight, in addition to the three weekly frequencies to Guayaquil.
In the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic will have an increase during the winter season of up to nine weekly frequencies in January and 10 in February. Puerto Rico will also increase its connectivity with Spain by one frequency to five weekly, and will reach a daily flight at the beginning of 2024. The connection to Havana will have three weekly frequencies.
In Central America, routes to Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama, as well as Uruguay, will have a daily flight. Customers can also benefit from Level’s connectivity to Latin America, the only airline that directly connects Barcelona with Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.
At present, the route between Barcelona and Santiago is operated with three flights a week, which will increase to five during the months of November and December. The Buenos Aires-Barcelona route operates six flights a week from September, one a day during the winter season and up to nine flights a week at peak times.
Overall, Iberia offers 300 weekly frequencies between Europe and Latin America and flies direct, non-stop to 17 destinations. And to all of them you can get cheap prices in the campaign that the company has just launched: San Juan de Puerto Rico or San José de Costa Rica from 250 euros each way; Panama from 306 euros, Quito from 332 euros each way; Rio de Janeiro from 358 euros or Santiago de Chile from 423 euros, among others.
The United States is also one of Iberia’s big bets this year, with direct flights to eight destinations, nine if we count Puerto Rico. The price campaign also includes very cheap prices to fly to all of them: Chicago from 183 euros each way, New York from 185 euros, Boston from 190 euros each way, Washington from 193 euros, San Francisco from 202 euros, Miami from 215 euros, Los Angeles from 267 euros and Dallas from 284 euros each way.
Europe, Middle East and Africa
Also in the winter season, Iberia will launch the route to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland (Finland), with two flights a week connecting Spain with Father Christmas’ home from 2 December to 10 February.
It will also launch the route between Spain and Doha (Qatar), with prices starting at 227 euros each way, to which customers from Latin America will have access. Specifically, from 1 December, Iberia will operate a daily flight between Madrid and Doha, which will provide the best connections to more than 100 destinations in Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Africa.
Among the new features is also the route between Madrid and Cairo, as from 30 September it will be possible to connect with the Egyptian capital three times a week: every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. With Iberia Express it will be possible to fly to Cairo from the end of October from only 129 euros each way.
In total, in Europe, the Iberia Group will increase its frequencies by 5% compared to the pre-pandemic, and will reach more than 800 flights a week, with significant increases in cities such as Paris, Rome, Milan, Venice, Zurich and Prague, among other destinations.
Finally, in Spain, Iberia Group has programmed a growth of almost 6% of flights, with more than 680 flights per week and already very close to pre-pandemic levels.
“Vuela, vuela” campaign
In addition, it has just launched its “Vuela, vuela” (Fly, come back) price campaign to mark the end of August, inviting customers to travel to the 137 destinations it offers worldwide at special prices.
For just 22 euros each way, it is possible to enjoy a trip to Ibiza, from 25 euros to Barcelona or from 29 euros to Bilbao, Asturias, Granada or Alicante. It is also possible to find tickets to travel between the mainland and the Canary Islands from 40 euros each way.
Flying to a European city such as Lisbon or Porto is possible from 29 euros. To Paris or Bologna from only 39 euros each way, or to London, Milan, Venice or Brussels, among others, from 45 euros each way. The campaign also includes flights to you can do it from 29 euros.
In order for customers to enjoy their trip more, Iberia has included in this campaign special prices for travelling in its Premium Economy class, where they have more space, comfort and privacy, thanks to the enveloping structure of the seat. In addition, this class has other advantages, such as better in-flight entertainment, with a larger full HD screen and specific gamming functionalities, an exclusive in-flight service or a larger baggage allowance, among others.
You can enjoy the comforts of this class from 358 euros each way to Chicago, from 429 euros each way to Mexico City or from 432 euros each way to Quito, among others.
The low fares campaign will end on 21 September; for flights to the United States and Mexico until 31 March 2024 and until 6 June 2024 for all other destinations.
The flight period for Spanish and European destinations will begin on 1 October this year and end on 6 June 2024. Take-offs to Latin America will be from 31 August 2023 to 6 June 2024. Finally, for flights to Mexico and the United States, the period will run from 1 October 2023 to 31 March 2024.
