Next Tuesday 25 July at 7 p.m., the cine Embajadores has a new date with its Arab Mediterranean, a cycle which, also in its second edition, explores other cinematographies in search of human and cinematographic richness.
On this occasion, the film chosen is the award-winning French film Cuscús (La graine et le mulet), directed in 2007 by Abdellatif Kechiche. After the screening, there will be a discussion with the actor Ibrahim Ibnou Ghoush, and the audience will be invited to enjoy Arab tea and a typical North African aperitif.
Couscous offers a portrait of a North African family in the south of France. Sillman, a divorced father of a family, is fired from his job on the docks of the port. His future and that of his family is uncertain, and his son advises him to return to North Africa. However, Sillman has an idea: to open a restaurant in a rusty old ship in the port, although the authorities will not make things easy for him. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
