His Majesty the King will attend the Closing of the 2023 World Law Congress in New York on the 21st, in an act that will take place at the United Nations headquarters.
The Congress will be attended by some 2,000 legal professionals and political leaders from around the world, convened by the World Association of Jurists, currently chaired by the Spanish lawyer Javier Cremades.
In 2019, the World Association of Jurists awarded don Felipe the World Peace and Freedom Prize. On May 8, the King attended the presentation ceremony in Madrid of the World Law Congress and the delivery to the jurist Andrew Young of the “World Peace and Liberty” Award.
During his stay in New York, which will begin on the 20th, the Monarch will have lunch with the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, and will participate in the delivery of the first edition of the Joan Margarit International Poetry Prize, at the headquarters of the Cervantes Institute of the city of skyscraper.
