With the collaboration of Casa Asia, Amok Ediciones is organising tomorrow Thursday at 7pm in the Librería Lé (calle Alberto Alcocer, 8) an Asian discussion on the conflict that arises when our individual identity does not coincide with the family, cultural or social identity that we try to impose.
Through two books by the writer Balli Kaur Jaswal, The Legacy and The Unusual Adventures of the Shergill Sisters, we will deal with topics such as social engineering, homosexuality, mental illness and the family, and get to know the author a little better, a Singaporean woman of Punjabi origin who has taken her own struggles to the heart of her works. Participating in the discussion will be Enrique Larrea and Paula Llamas, publishers of Amok Ediciones, and Emilio de Miguel, director of the Centro Casa Asia-Madrid. The reading will be guided by Eva Guerrero, art historian, archivist and instagramer of reference on Asian literature. Free activity with prior registration at this link.
