The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, participated yesterday by videoconference in two successive meetings for the coordination at ministerial level of the different aspects of the allied tank support to Ukraine, according to the Ministry.
The first of the meetings, convened by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorious, was attended by Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, Finland, Portugal and Sweden, all of them users, together with Germany, of the Leopard tank. The second meeting, jointly convened by the Polish Minister of Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, and the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Oleksii Reznikov, was also attended by the ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Denmark and Norway, among others.
At both meetings, the allies made progress in coordinating, from a broad perspective, the delivery of this aid through a coalition of donors of battle tanks, spare parts, ammunition and training. At the next meeting of defense ministers in Brussels, there will be a session dedicated to strengthening this coordination. The countries have agreed to the utmost discretion and prudence in this process, according to Defense. The minister was accompanied by the Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral General Teodoro Esteban López Calderón, and by the Secretary General of Defense Policy, Admiral Juan Francisco Martínez Núñez.
