The Government of Spain yesterday strongly condemned the terrorist attack perpetrated at the Shah Cheragh Mausoleum in the city of Shiraz (southern Iran), which caused at least 15 deaths, and reiterated its “full solidarity with Iran in the fight against terrorism.”
At least 15 people were killed on Wednesday and nearly 20 injured after an individual opened fire on worshippers attending evening prayers at the Shah Cheragh Mausoleum, the main Shiite shrine in southern Iran. The attack has been claimed by the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
“The Government of Spain strongly condemns the terrorist attack perpetrated at the Shah Cheragh Mausoleum, expresses its sincere condolences for the victims and their families and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. “Spain reiterates its full solidarity with Iran in the fight against terrorism,” it added.
