After the summer break, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid continued its cycle of shows In scena a Palazzo last Wednesday with Modena Città Belcanto. La tradizione napoletana dal belcanto alla canzone d’autore.

Together with the Italian ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, the director of the Institute, Marialuisa Pappalardo, the pianist Paolo Andreoli and the two brilliant students of the Modena Città Belcanto courses, the soprano Iolanda Massimo and the tenor Vincenzo Tremante, gave an excellent performance of the great works of the Neapolitan tradition, ranging from 18th century opera (Cimarosa, Pergolesi, Paisiello, etc.) to singer-songwriters’ songs (Reggiorno d’autore). ) to singer-songwriters’ songs (Reginella, Fenesta vascia, Torna a Surriento, O’ sole mio, among others), which enchanted and captivated the audience. The concert, like all the concerts in the cycle, is available on the YouTube channel and on the Institute’s Facebook page.

The Modena Città del Belcanto project is promoted by the Fondazione di Modena, Comune di Modena, Fondazione Teatro Comunale and Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “Vecchi – Tonelli” and was born on the basis of a first pilot experience carried out in 2004 with the advanced course in lyrical singing taught by Luciano Pavarotti, Mirella Freni, Raina Kabaivanska and Leone Magiera.
