This evening at 19.30, the Instituto Goethe will screen the film El despertar de Nora (Nora’s Awakening), directed in 2020 by Leonie Krippendorff and starring Lena Urzendowsky, Jella Haase, Lena Klenke, Elina Vildanova and Anja Schneider in their main roles.
A film about the process of growing up and coming out of the wardrobe, which tells how in the hot summer of Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, 14-year-old Nora emerges from her cocoon like a charming butterfly: a film about the process of growing up and coming out of the wardrobe, told with a fine sense of reality and the nuances of the street, because with her physical transformation and her sexual awakening, Nora also realises that she likes girls more than boys.
