The book Un puñado de tierra, an anthology of Ukrainian poetry and painting, will be presented next Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Biblioteca Nacional of Spain, for the first time in Spanish. At the event, Anastasia Gólub, first soloist of the Odessa Opera, will perform songs based on poems from the edition.
With the publication of this book by the publishing house Reino de Cordelia, the aim is to contribute to a greater knowledge in Spain of my country, its culture and its role in the world.
With a foreword by the well-known poet and former Secretary of State Luis Alberto de Cuenca, this is a careful bilingual edition in Ukrainian and Spanish with a brilliant translation by Ambassador Gómez de Aranda and his wife Olena Kurchenko. The poetry is accompanied by a relevant selection of Ukrainian paintings chosen by the book’s patron, Sergii Chaika.
