The Centro Sefarad-Israel is screening tomorrow at 6 pm the biopic Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europeaka, about the Jewish writer directed in 2016 by Maria Schrader.
This biopic about the Austrian intellectual Stefan Zweig focuses on the exile years of the famous writer and social activist. Zweig was one of the most unrepeatable characters of the 20th century. As a Jew, he was forced to flee his country by the Nazi regime. In his flight forward, he first took refuge in Paris and later in London, but Zweig ended up fleeing Europe with his wife to South America, finally settling in Brazil, where he committed suicide in 1942 due to his fear that Nazism would spread throughout the world. The film will be screened in its original version with Spanish subtitles. Free admission, subject to confirmation at this link.
