Centro Cultural Coreano presents Shin Sun-mi’s ‘I miss you!

Until 27 May, the Centro Cultural Coreano presents the exhibition of the artist Shin Sun-mi’s I miss you!

Shin Sun-mi is an artist who has built her own artistic world by combining traditional painting technique with original themes and is regarded as an artist who is leading the popularisation of traditional paintings by depicting themes that intertwine the everyday and the extraordinary, such as the modern life of a mother and child dressed in ‘Hanbok’, Korea’s beautiful traditional dress, and a world where little fairies live together.

The 22 works in the exhibition present the warm love of three generations of the artist’s own family (grandmother, mother and child) that goes beyond the love between mother and daughter. They are painted from the point of view of a woman who has given birth, who, while raising her child, returns to her childhood and meets the ant fairy, an imaginary friend from the artist’s childhood, only visible to the eyes of children.
