As part of the celebration of LGBT Pride Day 2021 and with the title Pride is not quarantined, the Australian and Irish Embassies in Madrid are hosting a virtual event on Thursday 24 June at 5pm.
The Australian Ambassador, Sophia McIntyre, and the Irish Ambassador, Sile Maguire, will open a debate that will feature the testimonies of three people from the LGBT+ community, under the moderation of Manuel Ródenas, a lawyer specialising in LGBT+ issues. More than a year after the start of the pandemic, the two embassies are joining forces to highlight the situation of marginalisation, isolation and the impact that COVID-19 has had on LGBT+ people in Spain.
