Tomorrow, Thursday June 25th, at 6pm, the Fundación Japón presents the online lecture The Real Kimono, given by the specialist in Japanese clothing and culture, Laura Maraver.
The kimono has been a very influential garment in Western fashion since the 19th century, but it is still steeped in myth. This conference will demystify preconceived ideas. History, fabrics and motifs will be discussed and how they influenced the different social classes; in addition, more current topics such as the types of kimonos, accessories, their wonderful connection to nature and the differences with the geisha kimono will be discussed. Free participation until full capacity is reached. Prior registration is required to attend through this link.
