‘Forbes’ magazine has released its ranking of 2000 largest listed companies in the world, which includes a total of 22 Spanish companies, of which Banco Santander, BBVA and Telefónica are the best situated.
The ranking ‘Global 2000’ related to 2019 is led, as in the edition of last year by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC, for its acronym in English), followed by JPMorgan Chase, China Construction Bank and Agricultural Bank of China.
Regarding Spain, only Banco Santander manages to position itself in a high position, specifically in the 30th, after climbing one position regarding 2018. BBVA descends from position 116 to 135 and Telefónica from 123 to 141. The group of ten spanish companies is completed with Iberdrola (145 in the world position), Repsol (236), Inditex (289), CaixaBank (343), ACS (489), Mapfre (646) and Naturgy (651).
The rest of the Spanish firms listed in the ranking are: Aena (869), Bankia (943), Amadeus (951), Sabadell (1,112), Bankinter (1,127), Ferrovial (1,113), Grifols (1,129), Red Eléctrica (1,388), Merlin Properties (1,647), Acciona (1,653), Unicaja (1,681) and Liberbank (1,812).
