The diplomat Jorge Mijangos Blanco was appointed yesterday by the Council of Ministers new director of the Department of Protocol of the Presidency of the Government. The post of Chief of Protocol of Moncloa has been occupied in the last five years by Andrés Costilludo, who worked on protocol issues with several presidents of the Government and who had expressed his desire to leave office to perform other tasks.
Jorge Mijangos, born in 1976 and diplomat since 2005, was currently assigned to the Protocol Department since 2017, where he was deputy general director and where his work has focused on the organization, coordination and management of institutional events, both at the national level as in the international. Previously, he was stationed in the Spanish embassies in El Salvador, the Republic of Korea and Brazil, as well as in the Presidency of the Government itself, in the General Secretariat and in the President’s Cabinet.
