Espacio Contemplación of Madrid (214 Arturo Soria Street) inaugurates, on Friday, the exhibition by the artist Benjamín Cano, from Madrid, Los papeles de Katyń. La matanza del Bosque de Katyń (Katyń’s papers. The massacre of the Katyń Forest).
This is a series of drawings inspired by the murder of thousands of Polish officers at the hands of the Soviet NKVD in the Russian forest of Katyń at the beginning of the Second World War. Among those participating in the inauguration will be Poland’s Ambassador to Spain, Marzenna Adamczyk. As a complement to the exhibition, the film “Katyń” (2007), by the Polish director Andrzej Wajda, will be screened on 29 and 30 September.
