Chinese tourists keep being those spending the most in shopping in Spain, with a total of 666 million euros last year, which represents 33% of the 2,000 million that non-EU tourists spent in the country. Despite everything, spending fell by 6% compared to that of 2015 due to the attacks in France and Belgium, which caused a reduction of trips to Europe.
According to data collected by the report ‘Impact of the new world order in shopping tourism’, of Global Blue, behind China, quite distant, are tourists from Russia (8%); Argentina (6%); countries of the Persian Gulf; the United States; and Morocco (all of them with 4%); Mexico and Korea (both with 3%); Brazil, Colombia, Hong Kong, Israel and Algeria (all of them with 2%).
