In view of the big tourist event taking place this week in Madrid, the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR), Slovakia’s Ambassador, Vladimir Grácz, presented, along with the director general for Tourism of his country, Ivana Magatova, the diverse tourist offer of that Central European country.

After Ambassador Grácz expressed the importance that this tourist fair has for his country, Slovakia’s director general for Tourism pointed out the great appeals offered to tourists who visit that country, from a great cultural heritage to its gastronomy, going through its popular folklore. “Despite of being a small country –Ivana Magatova said-, Slovakia has a rich historical personality”. “It is a clean and safe country, with nice people, which knows how to use the richness of its healthy mineral waters for medicinal treatments”, she added.

Afterwards, the economic and commercial attaché of the Embassy, Rastislav Hindický, presented the Slovak tourist offer: 14,000 kilometres of signposted paths and the same amount of cycle lanes; 6,000 caves (18 of them open for tourists to visit); 25 spas with 1,472 mineral springs with curative properties; 425 palaces; 180 castles; 20 pools of thermal waters for winter; 36 ski resorts; 18 historical elements of all the architectural styles; festivals and cultural events, among them the opera of the Slovak National Theatre; ethnographic museums and gastronomy, and famous wines of recognized quality.
