Complementing the exhibition Pens and cartoons; the Arab comic in movement (Cálamos y viñetas: cómic árabe en movimiento), which is on show at the headquarters of Casa Árabe in Madrid, two illustrators talk about the current scene of this artistic style tomorrow Thursday, 14 January at 19 hours. Admission free. Limited seating. In English with simultaneous Spanish translation.

Two representatives of this lively current scene that represents the comic and the graphic novel in the Arab world are giving this talk: Lina Ghaibeh, illustrator and professor at the American University of Beirut; and Issam Smiri, graphic designer, illustrator and comic writer. Through a dialogue conducted through the curator of the exhibition, Pedro Rojo, we learn, at first hand, the minutia of the creative process of these artists, the production context and circulation of the works in the Arab countries and their reception by public places.
