The Círculo de Bellas Artes presents this afternoon at 19:00hrs, in the Ramón Gómez de la Serna room (Alcalá, 42 Madrid) the book Autonomous State and Federal Reform, by , Eliseo Aja Fernández, Law Professor at the University of Barcelona, and expert in political and constitutional law. Juan Miguel Hernández León, President of the Circle of Bellas Artes, and the political essayist Nicolás Sartorius will appear alongside the author.
The 1978 Constitution has allowed for a notable decentralisation of the State in Spain and configured the Autonomous Communities with powers similar to those held by states in a federations, however, the autonomous system as a whole, has begun to show grave problems with structure and financing. This book, a new, revised, edition of The autonomous State, is a work that has become indispensable. Eliseo Aja examines the evolution of the autonomous State, systematically exposes its principal characteristics and impartially analyses the current, most pressing, problems while at the same time presenting realistic reform proposals.
