The Diplomat
Next Monday, February 4, Vietnam will celebrate the lunar New Year, also known as the ‘Tet’ and this time it will be the Year of the Pig.
For this reason, Vietnam’s Embassy in Spain called last Sunday a community party attended by Vietnamese residents in Spain and numerous Spanish families who have adopted Vietnamese children.
At the ceremony, a number of awards was also given to people and institutions that have contributed to strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Spain. Among others, The Diplomat and the program ‘Madrileños por el Mundo’ (Telemadrid), won recognition for their journalistic work on Vietnam.
The Embassy especially acknowledged the work of Alfonso Ojeda, a professor at the Complutense University, who has recently published the book ‘Vietnam and Spain, a common history’. The book, announced Ambassador Ngo Tien Dung, is scheduled to be translated into Vietnamese shortly.
