Spanish oil company Repsol and its partners Equinor (former Statoil), Neptune and OMV have discovered oil and gas in a drilled exploration well near the Gudrun field, located in the waters of the North Sea, in Norway, informed the Oil Directorate of the Nordic country.
After this evaluation drilling, the four companies should now analyze whether the discovery has sufficient potential for commercial exploitation. Preliminary estimates suggest that the deposit could have between 1.1 and 2 million cubic meters of oil equivalent.
