Centro Cultural Coreano of Madrid is screening this evening, at 7.30 pm, the film ‘Shiri’, a thriller directed by Kang Je-gyu in 1999. Original version with Spanish subtitles.
Korea is divided into two nations. Lee is a North secret agent sent South leaving behind her past. After changing her identity, she enters Seoul as part of an operation that receives the code name ‘Shiri’. A group opposed to Korean unification takes over a powerful explosive and plans to detonate it during a football match, whose slogan is «reunification of the two Koreas», which both sides presidents attend. Yoo is a secret agent from the South in charge of following Lee. Between them will emerge a tragic love story unable to overcome political differences.
