Through its pages, it explores topics such as the process of miscegenation, the repopulation of the island of Santo Domingo with immigrants from the Canary Islands in the eighteenth century, the influence of Spanish republican exile and the remarkable Spanish investment in key sectors of the Dominican economy, such as supermarkets, hotels and restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The work, which brings together over 40 writings by leading historians and researchers from both countries, covers a wide range of topics including urbanism, education, diplomacy, art, history of political ideas, economics, migration and tourism. This book seeks to provide an integral view of the historical and cultural ties that unite Spain and the Dominican Republic, highlighting their mutual impact and shared legacy over
