The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, \u00d3scar Puente, highlighted this Tuesday in Abu Dhabi\u00a0 \u00a0 \u201cthe success of the Spanish railway model\u201d and the interest it arouses internationally due to the high levels of design and quality of rolling stock, infrastructure and technological systems.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Spanish railway model is a successful model, a model that can be exported everywhere,\u201d said the minister during his speech at the opening ceremony of the Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conferences, the railway transport and infrastructure fair that is being held these days in the emirate, according to the Ministry in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are successfully operating the high-speed train between Mecca and Medina, we are present throughout the development of Rail Baltica, the largest high-speed project in the European Union; and in Nepal, the Spanish railway and its industry are in demand,\u201d the minister continued.<\/p>\n

He also recalled that the knowledge and experience of Spanish companies are available to all countries to develop sustainable and decarbonised transport. \u201cSpain is at the forefront and we want to be where there are opportunities, and of course that means here: in the United Arab Emirates. I want to applaud this country for its courageous commitment to railways and high speed,\u201d added the minister.<\/p>\n

After the opening ceremony, the minister visited the fair’s pavilions and toured the stands of Spanish companies which, together with others from around the world, are exhibiting the latest technological developments in the railway industry, focusing on digitalisation, automation, sustainability and smart and intermodal mobility. Among the Spanish companies and associations participating in the event are Mafex, Sener, Renfe, Ineco, Indra, Talgo, Caf and Danovant.<\/p>\n
