The Centro Cultural Coreano,<\/strong> together with Quaterni Publishing, is calling for the first edition of the Cover Art Contest.<\/em><\/strong> The deadline for submission of proposals is 30 November, and participants aged 18 or over may participate. The prize is endowed with an amount of 3,000 euros and the winning proposal will become the official cover of the book Estela de condensaci\u00f3n (Condensation Trail),<\/em><\/strong> by Kim Ae-ran.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The aim of this new competition is to promote the enjoyment of literature from an artistic perspective, and give life to the cover art of the first edition in Spanish of Estela de condensaci\u00f3n, the new collection of stories by Kim Ae-ran, one of the most important authors of Korean literature of the 21st century.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The deadline for submission of proposals is 30 November 2024. After the jury deliberation, the\/the winner will be announced on 12 December on the website of the Korean Cultural Center in Spain (https:\/\/spain.korean-culture.org<\/a>). The contest will award a single prize, endowed with three thousand euros, and the winning proposal will be used as official cover of Estela de condensaci\u00f3n,<\/em> whose publication by the publisher Quaterni is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025 in Spain.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All persons of legal age and with Spanish nationality may participate in the contest. Each participant should submit a proposal including the design of the cover and back cover, inspired by the book\u2019s synopsis. However, designs that include photographs or collages that mix illustrations and photographs will not be accepted. Only those that are made up exclusively of traditional and\/or digital illustrations will be accepted.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The jury will evaluate the proposals according to their originality, artistic quality and, especially, their suitability for the theme of Estela de condensaci\u00f3n.<\/em> The full contest rules and application form are available on the Centro Cultural Coreano website.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The book Estela de condensaci\u00f3n<\/em> is a collection of stories starring characters tired of fighting against bad luck, almost defeated, but who, despite everything, do not lose hope and still desperately seek happiness. Men and women who are trying to escape from reality and crave a new life, like the taxi driver despised by his own family, the bathroom cleaner whom everyone treats badly, the old woman who, despite her age, still picks up cardboard boxes, the woman who, on her way to a friend\u2019s wedding, reflects on the exacting standards that society has imposed on us.<\/p>\n
