Last Monday, the Embassy of Thailand<\/strong> organized in the Kirchen Club<\/strong> of Madrid a Demonstration of Thai Cuisine,<\/em><\/strong> with the protagonist chef Kamol Chobdee-ngam,<\/strong> winner of the Iron Chef of the Asian country in 2015.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Three dishes were chosen from the varied and tasty Thai cuisine to demonstrate its preparation to guests: the Curry Massaman,<\/strong> the Tom Yum Kung<\/strong> and the typical and famous Pad-Thai.<\/strong> Chef Kamol Chobdee-ngam was explaining the different ingredients of each recipe and preparing and cooking the delicious dishes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Thai ambassador, Vosita Vorasaph,<\/strong> was very excited to be able to demonstrate the rich flavors of his country\u2019s cuisine. “This initiative, he said during his speech, underlines that the Thai government assumes food as one of our friendly currencies, <\/strong>also economic and cultural growth with the aim of transforming Thailand into a key player in the global economy”.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“We aspire to make Thailand a regional hub in eight major industries and food is one of the important axes for promoting global food security and developing future food industry, he said. Thailand has long been established as one of the world\u2019s cuisines. This is due to a combination of abundant natural resources, a year-round growing season and strong investment in food innovation and commitment to stand up food.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Vosita Vorasaph stressed during her speech that “last year, Thai food exports amounted to about 36.5 billion euros.<\/strong> This year it is expected to increase by around two percent for food lovers”.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“At present, continued, we have more than a hundred Thai restaurants throughout Spain. <\/strong>Of course, there is still a lot of potential for the Thai food industry to expand, not only by Spanish and foreign people who enjoy eating out, but also by those who want to learn how to cook Thai themselves.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After highlighting the figure of chef Kamol Chobdee-ngam, the Thai ambassador highlighted his “Firm confidence that this event will not only further promote the already strong popularity of Thai food, but also highlight the ease of access to Thai ingredients and learning our basic Thai cooking techniques”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He highlighted the presence at the event of the ambassadors of India<\/strong> and New Zealand, <\/strong>as well as representatives from the embassies of Canada, Pakistan <\/strong>and Indonesia<\/strong> and the presence of the Thai businessman based in Spain, Jimmy Lim.<\/strong><\/p>\n
