The Spanish Government yesterday condemned the electronic attacks in Lebanon in recent days, targeting Hezbollah leaders, which have left more than thirty dead and thousands injured<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pedro S\u00e1nchez’s Executive, in addition to expressing this condemnation, affirms that “the indiscriminate attacks are contrary to International Humanitarian Law and threaten the security and stability of Lebanon, Israel and the entire region.”<\/p>\n

The text, issued after a good number of pagers carried by leaders of the Shiite militia of Hezbollah exploded on Tuesday, and the same happened on Wednesday with walkie-talkies, stresses that the attacks “have caused dozens of deaths and thousands of injuries, with numerous victims among the civilian population.”<\/p>\n

Although no claim of responsibility has been made for the attacks so far, both Hezbollah and the Lebanese government have blamed Israel for being behind them.<\/p>\n

The Spanish government also calls for “restraint among all actors” in the region, and indicates that “it is necessary to avoid an even greater escalation of violence and the risk of an open war with unforeseeable consequences.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
