Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Basoa Valdovinos and Andr\u00e9s Mart\u00ednez Adasme have been arrested and accused in Venezuela of preparing an attack against Nicol\u00e1s Maduro. The Bolivarian regime has linked them to the National Intelligence Centre (CNI).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Spanish Embassy in Caracas is in contact with the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, to which it has informed that it will exercise diplomatic and consular protection of its nationals. We keep the families informed on a regular basis\u201d, it added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, both Basoa Valdovinos and Mart\u00ednez Adasme \u201chave links\u201d with the National Intelligence Centre, which is \u201cdeeply involved in an operation to recruit \u201cterrorists to come to Venezuela.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported the following day that \u201cSpain denies and rejects any insinuation of being involved in an operation to destabilize politics in Venezuela\u201d and assured that \u201cthe Government has confirmed that the detainees are not part of the CNI or any other state body.\u201d \u201cSpain defends a democratic and peaceful solution to the situation in Venezuela,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish Embassy in Caracas has sent a verbal note to the Government of Venezuela \u201crequesting access to the detainees, in order to verify their identities and nationality and, if verified, to know exactly what they are accused of and that they can receive all the necessary assistance.\u201d &#8220;The Embassy &#8211; the same sources added &#8211; will ensure at all times the protection and rights of any Spaniard detained in Venezuela.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eduardo Gonz\u00e1lez The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured yesterday that \u201cit continues to demand official and verified information from the Venezuelan authorities on the arrest of two Spaniards\u201d, as well as \u201cclarification of the charges of which they are accused\u201d.
