Several MEPs led by Estrella Gal\u00e1n, head of Sumar’s list in the recent European elections, have asked the Ministry of the Interior to process asylum and grant entry permission to Spain to two young Sahrawis detained at the Barajas airport (Madrid) and whose Deportation to Morocco, they warn, would be a violation of international law.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a letter, the MEPs – belonging to Sumar, Bildu and BNG – recall that the two young people run the risk of being deported despite having requested asylum in Spain and that the two Sahrawis have alerted the Spanish authorities that their physical integrity would be in danger if they were handed over to Morocco. The text also recalls that several NGOs have denounced human rights violations in the occupied Sahrawi territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
