The President of the Government, Pedro S\u00e1nchez, has celebrated \u201cthe rejection of the extreme right\u201d and the victory of \u201cthe social left\u201d both in the legislative elections this Sunday in France and in those held last Thursday in the United Kingdom.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis week, two of the largest countries in Europe have chosen the same path that Spain chose a year ago: rejection of the extreme right and a decisive commitment to a social left that addresses people’s problems with serious and brave policies,\u201d declared Pedro S\u00e1nchez<\/strong> through the social network X. \u201cThe United Kingdom and France have said YES to progress and social advancement and NO to the regression in rights and freedoms,\u201d he continued. \u201cWith the extreme right there is neither agreement nor governance,\u201d he concluded, in clear reference to the PP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these results, the far-right National Group, led by Marine Le Pen and which started as a favorite after obtaining victory in the first round on June 30, is in third position, with 143 parliamentarians. The centrist party Together for the Republic, linked to President Emmanuel Macron, has reached 168 seats, well below the 250 of the previous elections, although well above what was expected. The Lepenist candidate, Johana Maurel, had placed third in the first round, which prevented her from running in the second. Participation barely exceeded 39 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
