The ambassadors of Hungary, Israel, Slovakia and the United Kingdom, as well as the director of the Centro Sefarad-Israel, attended, on Tuesday, the preview of the Hungarian film \u201cSon of Saul\u201d at C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The preview of the film, awarded the Golden Globe (the entrance hall to the Oscar) last week, gathered a large audience interested in the new view of the Holocaust that the work of L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Nemes offers.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The film tells, from a very subjective point of view, the story of a \u201csonderkommando\u201d, Sa\u00fal Ausl\u00e4nder, played by actor G\u00e9za R\u00f6hrig<\/a><\/strong>, who, after the screening, took part in a discussion with the audience. During the talk, R\u00f6hrig contributed details about the complexity of his character and how he prepared for it.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Hungary\u2019s Ambassador to Spain, Enik\u0151 Gy\u0151ri, was pleased about the possibility of \u201cSon of Saul\u201d being the first film from her country to win an Oscar to the Best Foreign Language Film and she pointed out that \u201chumans want to learn from history, because we want to continue being humans and it is only through memory that will we prevent humanity, even at the most difficult times, from perpetrating inhuman acts again\u201d.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The director of the Centro Sefarad-Israel, Miguel de Lucas, affirmed that the value of this film and, in general, that of keeping Shoah\u2019s memory alive, is \u201cto prevent atrocities such as the Holocaust from happening again\u201d, which filled Europe with terror in the forties.<\/p>\n

Among those attending the screening at C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes, were also present Israel\u2019s Ambassador, Daniel Kutner; Slovakia\u2019s Ambassador, Vladimir Gracz, and the United Kingdom\u2019s Ambassador, Simon Manley.<\/p>\n
