From 20 May to 6 June, the Embassy of the Czech Republic,<\/strong> in close collaboration with the Centro Checo Madrid<\/strong> and together with many other partners and sponsors, will organise the Czech-Spanish Days,<\/em><\/strong> with the aim of encouraging political, economic and cultural exchanges between the Czech Republic and Spain.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The opening ceremony of the Conference will take place next Monday at 11.30 a.m. at the Fundaci\u00f3n Ortega-Mara\u00f1\u00f3n<\/strong> (Calle Fortuny, 53), with a conference organised by the Foundation and the Embassy, entitled United in Europe, different paths, a common goal. <\/em>Martin Dvo\u0159\u00e1k,<\/strong> Minister for European Affairs of the Czech Republic, and Jos\u00e9 Manuel Albares,<\/strong> Minister of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, will participate. Charles Powell,<\/strong> Director of the Real Instituto Elcano, will moderate. Simultaneous translation will be provided.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic’s accession to the EU, new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries will also be sought, in sectors such as health, energy transition and others. The conference will culminate with the Kafka Night<\/strong> in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the death of the writer Franz Kafka.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On 27 May, representatives of the Czech and Spanish defence staffs will meet for the seminar Two allies, a common mission,<\/em><\/strong> to be held at the Centro Superior de Estudios de la Defensa Nacional (CESEDEN).<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the area of economics, a Czech-Spanish economic seminar entitled Green transition in energy and transport <\/em><\/strong>will be held on 29 May, which will be attended by the Czech Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, E. Kozu\u0161n\u00edk, <\/strong>and will provide a forum for representatives of companies from both countries to discuss the possibilities for cooperation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As a special event in the field of medicine, the Embassy is organising a conference of medical experts in the field of cardiology <\/strong>and cardiac surgery<\/strong> on 23 May in cooperation with the Community of Madrid,<\/strong> the Gregorio Mara\u00f1\u00f3n University Hospital <\/strong>and the Motol University Hospital <\/strong>in the Czech Republic. This event is intended as a starting point for bilateral Czech-Spanish cooperation in the health and medical sector.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In honour of the Czech glassmaking tradition, a presentation of the extraordinary Czech glassmakers will be held at the Real F\u00e1brica de Cristales de La Granja<\/strong> on 22 May. On Roma Day<\/strong> in Madrid there will be a concert by the traditional Gypsy band Ivan Her\u00e1k.<\/strong> The Czech folk-rock band \u010cechomor<\/strong> will come from the Czech Republic to perform in Madrid at the Independance Club<\/strong> on 30 May and in Estepona on 2 June.
