{"id":82724,"date":"2024-03-24T05:07:44","date_gmt":"2024-03-24T04:07:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zen-hopper.82-223-81-17.plesk.page\/2024\/03\/24\/cervantes-highlights-essential-role-of-digital-transformation-in-teaching-spanish\/"},"modified":"2024-03-24T05:07:44","modified_gmt":"2024-03-24T04:07:44","slug":"cervantes-highlights-essential-role-of-digital-transformation-in-teaching-spanish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/en\/2024\/03\/24\/cervantes-highlights-essential-role-of-digital-transformation-in-teaching-spanish\/","title":{"rendered":"Cervantes highlights \u201cessential\u201d role of digital transformation in teaching Spanish"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><strong>The Diplomat<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>The academic leaders of the Instituto Cervantes highlighted this week in Toledo the \u201cessential nature\u201d of digital transformation as a \u201cdriving element\u201d of the teaching of Spanish.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A total of 110 professionals, including heads of studies from the Instituto Cervantes centers around the world and staff from the Academic Directorate, met from March 19 to 21 on the campus of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) of Toledo to address the organization, objectives, teaching plan and improvements in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Throughout five discussion tables and three work groups, the participants and moderators addressed matters specific to the activity of Spanish as a foreign language teachers, such as the value of the Instituto Cervantes Center Accreditation System (SACIC), the needs training or the involvement of teaching teams in certification projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In any case, <strong>technological transformation was the transversal theme throughout the meeting<\/strong> due to \u201cits essential character as a driving element of new teaching perspectives, methods and hybrid dynamics that combine face-to-face and digital classes,\u201d as indicated by the Instituto Cervantes in a Press release.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnderstanding the specificity of our centers helps us continue moving forward,\u201d declared <strong>the director of the Instituto Cervantes, Luis Garc\u00eda Montero<\/strong>, during the closing ceremony. \u201cAt a time of technological transformation, it is essential to come together to analyze the issues that involve the entire network with concrete achievements, in reference to language and speech, theory and practice,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For his part, <strong>the vice-rector for Internationalization of the UCLM, Ra\u00fal Mart\u00edn Mart\u00edn<\/strong>, recalled his university&#8217;s commitment to \u201cthe teaching and dissemination of Spanish\u201d and urged to maintain \u201cthe spirit of collaboration and commitment\u201d between both entities. The academic director of the Cervantes Institute, Carmen Pastor, in charge of presenting the Action Plan of the Cervantes Institute 2024-2026 on the opening day, closed the work agenda with the
