For the first time since the start of the project, at the beginning of the academic year 2020-2021, the scientific directors of the educational project The Muses and the Stars<\/em><\/strong> -the Israeli aerospace engineers Dr. Ana Heller <\/strong>and Dr. Shimrit Maman-,<\/strong> promoted by the Embassy of Israel,<\/strong> will visit the IES Las Musas<\/strong> (Calle Carlos II, 17 de Madrid) on 30 November from 11 am, to meet the participating students and give classes and talks in person.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition, the boys and girls who have been working on this project will present the progress made in recent months. Due to the pandemic, the Israeli researchers had not been able to work personally with the students, and all the classes and meetings had taken place online.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Doctors Heller and Maman will be accompanied by Yossi Yamin,<\/strong> CEO of the Israeli pharmaceutical company SpacePharma, an internationally renowned company in the field of pharmaceutical research in space. The nanosatellite that the students of Las Musas High School are working on will be dedicated to biological research in microgravity conditions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The idea of Las Musas y las estrellas<\/em><\/strong> encompasses two independent projects: Firstly, Youth Space,<\/em><\/strong> a project whose aim is for the participating students to send a nanosatellite into space and subsequently analyse the data received. The nanosatellite payload consists of a series of kits created by SpacePharma for students to design their own biological experiments in microgravity conditions. It lasts for several years, and the students’ work is organised along the lines of Israeli start-ups.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Secondly, She Space,<\/em><\/strong> which is aimed at secondary and high school girls and is designed to carry out studies on climate change by analysing satellite images.
