The number of new commercial companies increased by 15.4% last July compared to the same month in 2022, reaching a total of 8,292 companies<\/strong>, according to data released this Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With the rebound in July, almost one point higher than that registered in June, the creation of companies has links seven consecutive months of year-on-year increases.<\/strong> However, the total number of companies incorporated marked its lowest figure in all of 2023 in the seventh month of the year, Europa Press<\/em> reports.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For the constitution of the 8,292 companies created last July, just over 352.5 million euros were subscribed<\/strong>, which represents 10.7% more than in the same month of 2022, while the average subscribed capital, which is stood at 42,521 euros, decreased 4.1% year-on-year.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While the creation of companies increased, the dissolution of companies decreased in July, 4.8%<\/strong> compared to the same month in 2022, to a total of 1,546. In this way, every day of the month of July 50 companies closed their doors in Spain.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Of the 1,546 companies that closed last July, 78.6% did so voluntarily, 9.1% due to a merger with other companies and the remaining 12.3% for other reasons.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

19.3% of the commercial companies that were created in the seventh month of the year were dedicated to commerce and 16.6% to real estate, financial and insurance activities.
\nRegarding companies dissolved by main economic activity, the highest percentages also occur in commerce (19.6%) and then in construction (16.9%).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For its part, the number of commercial companies that increased capital increased by 9.3% in July, up to 2,264 companies<\/strong>. The capital subscribed in these increases exceeded 2,020 million euros, 27.7% higher than in July 2022, while the average capital was 892,242 euros, 16.8% more.<\/p>\n

In the first seven months of the year, 11.2% more companies have been created than in the same period of 2022. For its part, the number of dissolved companies has decreased by 0.1% until July.<\/p>\n

Madrid and Catalonia, at the head<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The communities that created the greatest number of companies last July were Madrid (1,938 companies), Catalonia (1,653) and Andalusia, where 1,359 companies were created.<\/strong> The regions that formed the fewest companies in the seventh month of the year were La Rioja (25), Navarra (42) and Cantabria (49).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

All regions created more companies in July than in the same month of 2022, except Cantabria, which did not experience any variation. The largest increases occurred in Murcia (+36.5%), Extremadura (+34.7%) and Navarra (+31.3%).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For their part, the most moderate year-on-year increases in the incorporation of companies were recorded in the Canary Islands (+0.7%), the Basque Country (+2.5%) and Castilla y Le\u00f3n (+6.7%).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Looking at dissolved commercial companies, the communities with the highest number of dissolutions in July 2023 were Madrid (530), Andalusia (253) and Catalonia (122)<\/strong>. On the contrary, the autonomous communities with the fewest dissolved commercial companies were Navarra (3), La Rioja (15) and Castilla-La Mancha (16).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ten communities increased their number of business dissolutions last July in an interannual rate, mainly La Rioja (+150%) and Cantabria (+75%), and seven reduced them, especially Castilla-La Mancha (-60%), Murcia (-47.7%) and Valencian Community (-42.8%).<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In monthly terms (July over June), the incorporation of new companies plummeted by 18.8%, its second largest monthly drop in a month of July in the last five years, only surpassed by that of July 2022 (-19, 4%).<\/p>\n

For its part, the dissolution of companies fell 6.7% in July compared to June, its largest monthly decrease in a month of July in at least five years.<\/p>\n
