Nadia Comaneci made history at the Montreal Olympics in 1976, when at the age of 14 she became the first gymnast in the world to score a perfect 10. But her story did not begin and certainly did not end there, as it spans from her sacrificed childhood undergoing hard training to a life full of restrictions and abuse with a thousand eyes on her. Intense surveillance and thousands of political police files have provided the basis for historian, political scientist and writer Stejarel Olaru to piece together Nadia’s day-to-day life in his new book.<\/p>\n
