The new ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Spain, Reza Zabib, presented yesterday Monday, April 24,\u00a0 <\/span>the Copies of his Letters of Credence to the Introducer of Ambassadors, Mar\u00eda Sebasti\u00e1n de Erice.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Zabib went to the historic headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the Santa Cruz Palace, after taking up his post at the Embassy on Friday, April 21. His predecessor, Hassan Ghashghavi, returned to Tehran last week after serving more than four years as head of the embassy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The new ambassador declared to The Diplomat<\/em> that based on historical and friendly relation between Iran and Spain, \u201cmy main mandate is to draw a new horizon toward deepening the relationship between our two countries\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The new Iranian ambassador in Spain met last week with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Persian country, Hossein Amir Abdollahian,<\/strong> on the eve of his departure for Madrid, where he elaborated the state of relations between the two countries and presented his plan for expanding this relations.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

At this meeting, Dr. Amir Abdollahian, referring to the long-standing friendly relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Spain, emphasized the need to develop relations, including the exchange of delegations in political, academic and parliamentary fields.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Reza Zabib, 55, is a doctor in International Law and a carrier diplomat<\/strong>. Before being appointed Ambassador of Iran in Spain, Zabib has served as General Director for North America, Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, General Director of Economic Affairs, Assistant Minister & General Director for East Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n
