The Centro Cultural Coreano,<\/strong> in collaboration with the Cervantes y C\u00eda<\/strong> bookshop in Madrid (Calle del Pez, 27), presents the series of literary meetings Korea in Words,<\/em><\/strong> which will be attended by Kim Cho-yeop <\/strong>and Chung Bo-ra,<\/strong> authors of If We Can’t Travel at the Speed of Light <\/em>and Cursed Bunny.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n On Saturday 25 March at 12 noon, the meeting with Kim Cho-yeop<\/strong> will take place at the Cervantes y Compa\u00f1\u00eda<\/strong> bookshop in Madrid, the author will be assisted by an interpreter; likewise, the following day, Sunday 26 March, at the same place and time, there will be a meeting with Chung Bo-ra,<\/strong> in this case the session will be held entirely in English. And finally, on Monday 27 March at 7 p.m. there will be another meeting with Kim Cho-yeop,<\/strong> this time in the bookshop El libro imposible<\/strong> in Ponferrada, Le\u00f3n (calle Gil y Carrasco, 2, Local bajo); the author will be assisted by an interpreter. For her part, Kim Hye-jin,<\/strong> author of Sobre mi hija, will greet readers telematically.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n During the period indicated, Cervantes y Compa\u00f1\u00eda in Madrid will host a space dedicated exclusively to Korean literature. This space will contain publications of various literary genres, including graphic novels, with exponents such as Keum Suk Gendry-Kim, <\/strong>children’s books and poetry. There will also be a reading club with four sessions with the participation of literature specialists from the Centro Cultural Coreano in Spain and Marina Sanmart\u00edn,<\/strong> novelist and crime novel critic, who will invite visitors to explore Korean literature. On Tuesday 18 April, at 7 p.m., there will be a literary discussion featuring Kim Hye-jin’s<\/strong> About My Daughter.<\/em> Although Korea in Words will end in April, the Korean literature book club will run until June. La vegetariana,<\/em> by Han Kang,<\/strong> will be the protagonist of the sessions on 3 and 16 May at El Libro Imposible <\/strong>in Ponferrada and Cervantes y Compa\u00f1\u00eda<\/strong> in Madrid. On 20 June, Almendra,<\/em> by Son Won-pyung,<\/strong> will bring the reading club in Madrid to a close.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n March and April are ideal months to discover Korean literature. For its part, Chapter One<\/em><\/strong> will be held from 23 to 26 March at Matadero in Madrid<\/strong>. For the first time in its history, this event will focus on the literature of a single country: Korea. The programme includes meetings with Korean authors and a performance by the Korean contemporary music group Haepaary.
