The Grupo Editorial Sial Pigmali\u00f3n <\/strong>and the C\u00edrculo Intercultural Hispano \u00c1rabe (CIHAR)<\/strong> are organising a Hispanic-Arab poetry recital<\/em><\/strong> this evening at 7 p.m. at the Espacio Ronda Madrid<\/strong> (Ronda de Segovia, 50), an emblematic and multicultural place that fuses art and literature.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Authors from different countries and aesthetics will take part in the event, which will allow us to meet again in a literary and fraternal embrace to become aware of our similarities and peculiarities, as well as to get to know better the respective poetic voices that will participate in this event, from different latitudes and characteristics, but with a solid nexus of union: good literature and friendship.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Presented and coordinated by Daniel Miguel\u00e1\u00f1ez,<\/strong> philologist, actor and poet, the event will feature the participation of Abdo Tounsi<\/strong> (Jordan), Basilio Rodr\u00edguez Ca\u00f1ada, Ridha Mami<\/strong> (Tunisia), Francisco Guti\u00e9rrez Carbajo, Mar\u00eda Pilar Cavero, Asma Souissi <\/strong>(Tunisia), Inma Jim\u00e9nez Jorquera, Helena Cosano, Khalid Raissouni<\/strong> (Morocco), Mar\u00eda Antonia Garc\u00eda de Le\u00f3n, Roc\u00edo Hervias<\/strong> (Peru), Jos\u00e9 Luis Mar\u00edn Aranda, Alma Grau, Hicham Amraoui<\/strong> (Morocco), Socorro M\u00e1rmol Br\u00eds, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Triper, Cristina Gal\u00e1n, Antonio Portillo, Gloria Nistal, Janet Aznar\u00e1n<\/strong> (Peru), Juan Manuel Riesgo <\/strong>and Jes\u00fas Herrero del Cura.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Nineteenth-century poets such as Zorrilla, B\u00e9cquer, Espronceda <\/strong>and Rosal\u00eda de Castro<\/strong> were influenced by the Arabic, coinciding with Romanticism and its interest and curiosity in the exoticism and mysteries of the East. The same happened with the best-known authors of the Generation of ’27, the Silver Age of Spanish poetry: Lorca, Cernuda, Alberti, D\u00e1maso Alonso,<\/strong> among others, drank from the Arabic-Andalusian tradition and poetry and clearly reflected it in their works. However, the current lack of knowledge of Arab culture in Western societies means that it is often wrongly linked to extreme religious or ideological positions, leading to mutual media distrust between our respective peoples and cultures.
