Over the next few days, residents and visitors to the Usera district can enjoy up to seven free artistic activities as part of the programme organised by the <strong>Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport<\/strong> and the <strong>Usera District Council,<\/strong> with the collaboration of the <strong>Embassy of the People&#8217;s Republic of China,<\/strong> Chinese associations in Usera, artistic collectives, residents&#8217; associations, <strong>Casa Asia<\/strong> and the <strong>Instituto Confucio of Madrid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition <strong><em>Lo nuevo,<\/em><\/strong> by the Madrid photographer <strong>Lupe de la Vallina,<\/strong> portrays people from the Chinese community living in Usera during the preparations for the Chinese New Year 2023.\u00a0 The group show <strong><em>Year of the Rabbit<\/em><\/strong> brings together interpretations of the animal that is the protagonist of this year&#8217;s edition by national and international artists. The Plaza de la Junta de Distrito de Usera will host an exhibition of traditional <strong><em>Hanfu<\/em><\/strong> clothing, where the public can try on China&#8217;s oldest traditional dress, caricatures by artist <strong>Xie Tianzi<\/strong> and giant calligraphies. Chinese illustrators from the Madrid School of Illustration draw the 12 animals of the zodiac on three large totem poles. The <strong>Centro Cultural Usera-Casa Madera<\/strong> hosts an interactive and participatory photo mural with hundreds of images by <strong>Luc\u00eda Sun.<\/strong> The festive poster, designed by <strong>Juan Carlos Paz (Bakea)<\/strong> on a photograph by <strong>Francesco Pinton,<\/strong> continues the series of Chinese zodiac animals with a friendly rabbit waving from the West Park.
