A senior official in Joe Biden’s administration said yesterday that Iran has dropped the demanded “red line” which disturbed nuclear agreement negotiations<\/strong> and that the parties are moving closer to a return to the pact, according to CNN.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Iran would not have demanded – at this point in the negotiations – that the US remove the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) from the State Department’s list of Foreign Terrorist Organisations<\/strong>. It also reportedly dropped requests for the delisting of companies linked to the IRGC.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to the official contacted by the US channel, Tehran “discards” these demands from “the current version of the text”.<\/strong> “So, if we are closer to an agreement, that’s why,” he said.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In any case, the official indicated that, “while an agreement is closer now than it was a fortnight ago, the outcome remains uncertain<\/strong> as some gaps remain”.<\/p>\n
