As part of Holocaust Remembrance Month,<\/em> the Centro Sefarad-Israel<\/strong> is organising the series The Holocaust and International Justice,<\/em><\/strong> with two lectures by Professor Hernando Valencia Villa,<\/strong> PhD in Law from Yale University.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first event in this series will take place next Thursday at 18:00. He will address the question of genocide as a crime of crimes and will present the experience of the three main judicial processes arising from the Second World War: Nuremberg,<\/strong> against the hierarchs of the Hitler dictatorship; Tokyo,<\/strong> against the high officials of the Japanese empire; and Jerusalem,<\/strong> against Adolf Eichmann, the logistician responsible for the Holocaust.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With the end of the Holocaust, international law faced one of the most important challenges in history. The judicial proceedings that sought to deal with the Shoah were numerous and of very diverse natures. In this series, Professor Hernando Valencia Villa will analyse some of the most prominent ones, as well as the question of genocide as a judicial term.
