The President of the Government, Pedro S\u00e1nchez,<\/strong> accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Jos\u00e9 Manuel Albares, of Culture, Miquel Iceta, and of the Presidency, F\u00e9lix Bola\u00f1os,<\/strong> presided yesterday at the Reina Sof\u00eda Museum, the act of constitution of the National Commission for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso<\/strong>, which took place in 1973.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
The commemoration has been organised jointly by the Spanish and French governments<\/strong>, with the aim, according to a note from the Ministry of Culture, of “facilitating a large number of exhibitions, colloquiums, seminars and audiovisual products that address lesser-known aspects of his work and update the assessment and appreciation of it for current generations of the public”.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
In Spain, the Museo Nacional del Prado, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sof\u00eda, the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, the Museo Picasso in M\u00e1laga, the Museo Guggenheim Bilbao and the Museo Picasso in Barcelona<\/strong> will host temporary exhibitions, the content of which has not yet been announced.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Also present at the constitution of the National Commission were the commissioner for Picasso Year, Jos\u00e9 Guirao, and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, the painter’s grandson.<\/p>\n

In 2023, in addition to the 50th anniversary of his death, it will be celebrated that he was born 140 years ago, as well as the 20th birthday of the Picasso Museum in Malaga and the 60th birthday of the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Master of cubism and constant seeker of new avant-garde artistic expressions, he is the artist who has the most museums dedicated to his work in the world, such as the Picasso Museum in Paris, the Antibes Museum in the south of France and those in Spain.<\/p>\n
