{"id":74485,"date":"2021-09-07T04:03:24","date_gmt":"2021-09-07T02:03:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zen-hopper.82-223-81-17.plesk.page\/2021\/09\/07\/indra-to-deploy-its-surveillance-and-guidance-systems-in-five-canadian-airports\/"},"modified":"2021-09-07T04:03:24","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T02:03:24","slug":"indra-to-deploy-its-surveillance-and-guidance-systems-in-five-canadian-airports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thediplomatinspain.com\/en\/2021\/09\/07\/indra-to-deploy-its-surveillance-and-guidance-systems-in-five-canadian-airports\/","title":{"rendered":"Indra to deploy its surveillance and guidance systems in five Canadian airports"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><strong>The Diplomat<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Spanish multinational company Indra has been awarded a contract to implement its systems at five Canadian airports from air navigation service provider NAV CANADA.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the company, Indra will equip the airports of <strong>Ottawa, Quebec, Winnipeg, Halifax and St. John in Canada <\/strong>with its air movement surveillance and guidance system on the maneuvering and taxiing apron, which will provide air traffic controllers with an optimized view of airfield traffic and will incorporate runway incursion alerts to reinforce safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The company will also deliver a similar system to be installed at NAV CANADA&#8217;s controller training center in Cornwall, Ontario, and another one to be implemented at the Technical Services Centre (TSC) in Ottawa, Ontario. The latter system will enable technical personnel to perform tests, validations and support throughout the country in a centralized manner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The delivery includes the installation of a Rift Incursion Monitoring and Conflict Warning System (RIMCAS), which will improve safety on the airfield apron and has already proven its ability to prevent incidents at other airports around the world. With the new surface surveillance system, NAV CANADA gains flexibility, equipping itself with automated and advanced functionalities to meet future needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The contract extends our successful relationship with Indra, a company we have been working with for twenty years. Throughout this time, their support and ability to adapt to our needs has been excellent.
