This afternoon at 6 p.m., Casa \u00c1rabe<\/strong> in Madrid is offering on its YouTube<\/strong> channel the interview it conducted with the Moroccan writer Leila Slimani<\/strong> on the occasion of the publication of her latest book, El pa\u00eds de los otros (The Country of Others).<\/em><\/strong> In French, with Spanish subtitles.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

During her fleeting visit to the cultural institution, Slimani signed seven copies of her book. If you would like to get one, you must reserve it or buy it now at Casa \u00c1rabe’s Balq\u00eds bookshop.<\/strong><\/a> Leila Slimani was born in Rabat in 1981, to a Moroccan father and a French-Algerian mother. With her first novel, In the Ogre’s Garden<\/em> (2014), in which she tackles female sexual addiction, she received unanimous critical acclaim. Sweet Song,<\/em> her second novel, consolidated Slimani’s literary career by winning the 2016 Goncourt Prize. In 2017, her committed essay Sex and Lies was published in France. She is currently the French representative on the Conseil de la Francophonie, a regular contributor to the daily Le Monde<\/em> and a committed activist on human rights and sexual freedom issues.<\/p>\n
