Her intention is to visit her sister and then go to the mansion of her former employer to exchange food and reminisce about old times. Loaded with bags, wrapped in an old shawl and a myriad of scarves, Vica begins a pilgrimage that unravels her life, and at the same time summarises the history of Romania from before World War I to the present day.
