The Spanish Embassy in Mexico has launched a tourism campaign to promote Spain as an \u201cinclusive, safe, and diverse destination for the LGBTQ+ community.\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n

According to the Mexican newspaper Excelsior, the Tourism Office of the Spanish Embassy in Mexico organized the event \u201cTravel in Freedom: Be Who You Are Where You Want\u201d last week at the ambassador\u2019s residence to present the campaign. The event was attended by the ambassador himself, Juan Duarte Cuadrado; his husband, Mick Daly; and representatives from the tourism sector, media, and institutions.<\/p>\n

During the evening, the Spanish Tourism Counselor in Mexico, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Machimbarrena Cuerda, highlighted the role of tourism as a tool to promote freedom, visibility, and coexistence, and emphasized that Spain \u201caspires to offer something as simple and profound as the possibility of traveling being who you are, with whom you want, how you want, and where you want.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, millions of travelers find much more in Spain than heritage, gastronomy, culture, or nature. They find a place where they can fully experience their identity naturally, safely, and with respect,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

As examples of this inclusive Spain, the Embassy highlighted Madrid Pride, held from June 25 to July 5 (considered one of the most important in the world), the Gay Games to be held in Valencia from June 27 to July 4, and the World Convention of the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association, which will take place in Seville next November.<\/p>\n
