Framed in the Dual Year Spain-India 2026,<\/em><\/strong> next Thursday, February 19 at 7 pm, Casa Asia <\/strong>and Herder Editorial,<\/strong> with the collaboration of UNED – Department of Philosophy,<\/strong> present the first session of the lecture cycle: Thought and religion in India, <\/em>entitled Beyond Orientalism: Classical Indian Philosophy.<\/strong> <\/em>Free activity upon registration.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In this first session of the cycle, Raquel Ferr\u00e1ndez<\/strong> will make an introductory tour of Indian philosophy, taking as a reference the recent publication in Spanish of the book by Jonardon Ganeri and Peter Adamson: Classical Indian Philosophy. The first thousand years<\/em> (Herder, 2025).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This introduction stands out for guiding the reader, from the sources themselves, through the variety of Indian arguments in all branches of philosophical work. At the same time, it highlights its value for philosophical discussion in general, in relation to contemporary debates on consciousness, language and correct action, among many others.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Raquel Ferr\u00e1ndez Formoso is a professor in the Department of Philosophy at UNED. She is dedicated to Indian philosophy and fusion philosophy. With the commitment to incorporate these philosophies into the Spanish-speaking academy, it teaches numerous courses on the history of yoga and other areas of Indian philosophy along with other specialists in the Hispanic academic field. Co-founder of the Society for Yoga and Philosophy, among its recent publications are: S\u0101\u1e43khya and yoga. A contemporary reading<\/em> (Kair\u00f3s, 2020), Trance and memory in Buddhism and yoga<\/em> (Kair\u00f3s, 2022). He has edited the monographic Yoga: History, Philosophy, Practices<\/em> (Aposta.
