Tomorrow, Thursday at 6 pm, the Embassy of Uruguay<\/strong> presents in the Miguel de Cervantes Room of Casa Am\u00e9rica<\/strong> the book Ahora es cuando (Now is when),<\/em><\/strong> by Micaela \u00c1lvarez.<\/strong> Free admission until capacity is full.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ahora es cuando<\/em> he talks about Jane De Mattos, 17 years old and with a life that seems to fall apart after the death of her father. Suddenly becoming the head of the family, Jane must deal with her mother\u2019s depression, the responsibilities of the countryside and caring for her two younger sisters, Clarisse and Emma. In the small village where he lives, the tranquility of rural life is threatened by absence and uncertainty. In the midst of this struggle, the appearance of George Brown, an enigmatic young man challenges Jane\u2019s resistance to relying on others. Her connection with him is intense and confusing, pushing her to confront her own feelings as she tries to keep control over her life and protect her family. Now is when it\u2019s a story of love and resilience, how bonding with others can be both a challenge and a driving force, and the quest to find a balance between responsibility and the desire to be happy.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Micaela \u00c1lvarez is a graduate writer in Pedagogy. She lives in a small town in the department of Florida, called Capilla del Sauce. Worked throughout her life as a promoter, rural and supermarket employee. In 2022, following the loss of his father when he was 17 years old, he began writing his first book: Ahora es cuando.<\/em> During that year he participated in various international writing competitions, including short stories. An experience that led her to improve the technique, although she believes she is still learning.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In October 2023, he launched a virtual bookstore, CAP LIBROS, so that books could reach every corner of Uruguay.
